HALLECK BAR PARTY

Friday, October 29, 2021 Theme: Elko Rodeo You are cordially invited to the most raucous and woolly wild west affair in Elko County. Dress in your best rodeo attire--hats, chaps, lassos, and spurs encouraged! The best costume wins the evening’s grand prize. Let the celebration begin! Enjoy music, libations, hors d’oeuvres, paella, and a silent auction with the toast of the town. Each year, we commemorate the Halleck Bar, which was donated to the Museum by the Glaser Family and Chach Evans. The stipulation for us to keep the bar is that we must have an annual party and a toast with Beefeater Gin. The Halleck Bar Party is one of Northeastern Nevada Museum’s most important fundraisers. All donations directly support the Museum and its projects. $20 donation per member appreciated. $25 donation per non-member.
GREAT HUMBOLDT DUCK RACE 2021 Date: July 16th at 9 a.m. Ducks will be dumped from top of Angel Park Hill. As the Museum’s biggest fundraiser, the Great Humboldt Duck Race has become one of Elko’s unique family events. Every year, thousands of little rubber duckies are adopted by supporters of the Museum and then dumped into the Humboldt River where they race to the finish line. The quickest duck wins its adopter $1,500 cash. The last duck to cross the finish line wins $250- sponsored by Everything Elko!
CLASSIC FILM FESTIVAL 2021 You have the chance to see classic films showed in Elko theaters years ago! Families are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and snacks to the City Park behind the Museum where we project classic films onto the back of the Museum building. Shows start at dusk. August 13 - Father Goose, 1964 (Cary Grant and Leslie Caron) Ruby Mountain Hot Dogs will be attending this event. August 20 - State Fair, 1945 (Jeanne Crain, Dana Andrews, Dick Haymes) Free admission.
