HALLECK BAR PARTY

Friday, March 25, 2022 from 6-9 p.m. in Halleck Bar Gallery Theme: Elko Rodeo You are cordially invited to the most raucous and woolly wild west affair in Elko County. Dress in your best rodeo attire--hats, chaps, lassos, and spurs encouraged! The best costume wins the evening’s grand prize. Let the celebration begin! Enjoy music, libations, hors d’oeuvres, paella, and a silent auction with the toast of the town. Each year, we commemorate the Halleck Bar, which was donated to the Museum by the Glaser Family and Chach Evans. The stipulation for us to keep the bar is that we must have an annual party and a toast with Beefeater Gin. The Halleck Bar Party is one of Northeastern Nevada Museum’s most important fundraisers. All donations directly support the Museum and its projects. $20 donation per member appreciated. $25 donation per non-member.
GREAT HUMBOLDT DUCK RACE Tentative Date: Friday, July 22nd at 9 a.m. Ducks will be dumped from top of Angel Park Hill in the event of drought. As the Museum’s biggest fundraiser, the Great Humboldt Duck Race has become one of Elko’s unique family events. Every year, thousands of little rubber duckies are adopted by supporters of the Museum and then dumped into the Humboldt River where they race to the finish line. The quickest duck wins its adopter $1,500 cash. The last duck to cross the finish line wins the $250 prize sponsored by Everything Elko!
CLASSIC FILM FESTIVAL 2022 Join us for two evenings of classic films shown in Elko theaters years ago! Families are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and snacks to the City Park behind the Museum where we project movies onto the back of the Museum building. Shows start at dusk. August 12 - Back to the Future, 1985 (Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd) Ruby Mountain Hot Dogs will be attending this event. August 19- Gidget, 1959 (Sandra Dee and James Darren) Free admission.
