HALLECK BAR PARTY

Friday, March 21, 2025 from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. in Halleck Bar Gallery Theme: The Cisco Kid You are cordially invited to the most raucous and woolly wild west affair in Elko County. Dress in your fanciest Cisco Kid attire for a chance to win the evening’s grand prize. Enjoy music, libations, food, and a silent auction with the toast of the town. Each year, we commemorate the Halleck Bar, which was donated to the Museum by the Glaser Family and Chach Evans. The stipulation for us to keep the bar is that we must have an annual party and a toast with Beefeater Gin. All donations directly support the Museum and its projects. $20 donation per member appreciated. $25 donation per non-member. Local musician Jacob Bingham will be our entertainment for the evening.
GREAT HUMBOLDT DUCK RACE Date: Friday, July 25th, 2025 at 9 a.m. Ducks will be dumped from top of Angel Park Hill. City of Elko Fire Department will be in attendance. As the Museum’s biggest fundraiser, the Great Humboldt Duck Race has become one of Elko’s unique family events. Every year, thousands of little rubber duckies are adopted by supporters of the Museum, and then City of Elko Fire Department flushes them down Angel Park hill where they race to the finish line. The quickest duck wins its adopter $1,500 cash. The last duck to cross the finish line wins the $250 prize sponsored by Everything Elko! Proceeds support the Museum’s programs and projects for the year.
CLASSIC FILM FESTIVAL 2025 Join us for two evenings of classic films shown in Elko theaters years ago! Families are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and snacks to the City Park behind the Museum where we project movies onto the back of the Museum building. Shows start at dusk. In the event of bad weather, films will be shown in the Museum Theater. August 8 - Labyrinth 1986 PG (David Bowie, Jennifer Connelly) August 15 - Top Gun, 1986 PG (Tom Cruise, Tim Robbins) Free admission.
